D for David Tao

It was definitely the concert of the year!!

David Tao was finally back in Malaysia for his last stop of "Love Can World Tour" concert. After half a year of waiting, the fans must have got so much crazier!

October 28, 2006. A memorable day of my life.

The concert started at 8.30pm. There was a video of DT piloting a copter which crashed. And out came DT from the sky!! He descended in a white glittering suit, like an angel, haha. Below him, were the musicians in white, too.

The concert kicked off with his hit, [Zhao Zi Ji] (Rain). He got the crowd really groovy with his hot number [Jin Tian Mei Hui Jia] (Shanghaied).

It was so much fun when he requested the audience to stand up and groove with his music. well, it felt better standing, you know. It's much more enjoyable to sway to the beat!

Surely, every number he sang was accompanied by loud cheers andhandclaps and whistles. Giving his best in delivering more than 25 songs, his power shone throughout the night.

The Uniqueness
If you think DT is just a singer who is quite aged (compared to other popular artists) and sing mostly ballads, you're wrong. He is part of that, but not all that.

In fact, he is much more energetic than so many other artists who had held concerts. Although not dancing, he could really rock the 12000-audience to their highest (including me, of course)!!

The concert was not just another concert. It was a huge range of music, with DT switching from lounge singer mode to hip hop artiste, rock star, rapper and even dabbled in some Chinese opera at one point. I especially enjoyed the rock segment, which he presented the songs [Gui] (Ghost) and [Hei Se Liu Ding] (Black Tangerine) and followed by [Sun Zi Bin Fa] (Sun Tzu's Art of War). It was completed with the drums and guitars and everything to the bright lights, which gave the atmosphere of a truly ROCK concert!!!

His performance of [Su San Shuo] (Susan Says) was begun with a few line of Chinese Opera style, treating the fans with his talent (probably?) inherited from his mother. Hehe... truly interesting!

The Stage
The stage was pretty eye-catching as we entered the stadium. It was in a rain forest theme, with plants ang groves and bushes, and there was even a wrecked helicopter in within all the... mess.

The Band
COncerts with live bands are truly amazing! The band members were all in white, which made them look angels in within the forest. Haha... They were very fantastic throughout the concert. DT had a lot of interaction with the band, the background vocalists as well as the Mosaic (erm...rite?), comprising the violin family.

The music director was Mr Goh Kheng Long. I found him a very talented musician. On stage, he played the keyboard and piano (very touching music~!!), and was even the conductor for the little orchestra.

The band was comprised of many Malaysians as well! And this included Mr Goh!! while some others were from Singapore, Thailand, etc. Looks like DT quite recognise Malaysian musicians. *If only I had a chance...*

For background vocals, there were girls this time, who were multi-talented as well. One of them, Ke Wei, dueted the song [Jin Tian Ni Yao Jia Gei Wo] with DT. Besides, she too played the "Er Hu" in a few songs, soemtimes accompanied by the traditional flute.

There was a medley session, kinda unplugged, where David Tan, guitarist and vocalist, joined in singing some parts. He has a good voice.

During a break, once, Mohd Nor (on percussion) gave him a bottle of water, but spoke in Malay. DT doesn't understand, as he said, but I guess he arranged for it! hah!

The duet
As promised, DT invited a fan on stage for a duet. He 'finally' chose a gurl, Celine, from the VVIP section. Later did I know that she was a 'banana'. No wonder she kept speaking ang mo to DT. She managed to keep the audience 'high' (of jealousy??) One thing was, she couldn't keep her hands off DT!! Right from the moment she stepped on stage! (Wonder what Joanne will say...? Oops...)
The song sung was [Tian Tian], a beautiful song.

Love Can vs Soul Power
I would say, the Soul Power concert was a better one compared to this. All because the SP concert was focused on music. Whereas, this one was a 'typical' concert, not only focused on music, but also other 'minor' stuff like his suits, the stage, blablabla... It's a pity I didn't attended the SP's, but at least got to watch the VCD of the one held in Hong Kong.
Well of course, this was far more better than other concerts this time around. Not regrets of a the rushing and arranging. ;) Realy hoping for a next time...

I know this is late. Anyway, serves well for my reference, ;D

Home sweet home...?

Finally, we get to move into our new house.

Somehow, our family has been moving about every five years. Year 1996, 2000, and now 2006.

Not too new a house though, but extended and renovated. It should feel good to stay in a larger place. Though it's a bit further away from the LRT station, guess it's well worth it.

Somehow I feel quite alien about this whole thing. Or rather, there seems not much atmosphere of it. And somehow, it felt more at home when I returned to the old house.

However, things never come perfect. Let's not talk about the furniture which aren't bought yet. To our dismay, many of the equipments in the house are faulty. The workers seem to have just made a mess out of everything.

Looks like there won't be much entertainment for us these few days. As long as the antenna and telephone line are not fixed. But the good news is, we are gonna have Astro! Not too keen though, compared to last time, since there are quite a lot of TV programmes on national tv. Hopefully, the broadband line will be fixedsoon, and that we get a new PC! I'm damn tired of the old one...
And hopefully, dad we bring us back to the old house to watch [The Beginning] every nite!! Haha...

The first day of moving in, my 3 aunties, all the way from Kedah, were here to visit! Looks like the some of them are more excited about the housewarming! Anyway, that won't come soon, most probably next year.

Anyway, hope to return to normal days of life.

Weird

Its been raining everyday past few weeks.

Why? Cuz the rain god, Rynn Lim is back in Malaysia! (yeah rite...)

The sad thing is, I can't go to his events.
Ahh.. my heart is weeping.

All because the family is busy with the new house. So much trouble. Renovating, cleaning, packing. Not only that, arguements, waitings, disappointments, mistakes (or merely ignorance), and... stupidity?! It all comes in a package.

But then, I'm quite eager to move into my new room which has a great view of the condominium blocks nearby. Much more of scenery and greenery as compared to the current one. Much bigger too. ;)

Rynn, I miss you so much!!!

The moral studies presentation went on this week. Tuesday's was quite 'interesting', or not, but still is unique comapred to others. The group of India girls presented a sketch to accompany their pslide presentation. The strange thing is, when the other groups are supposed to have only 2 representatives to present, this group had 4 of them speaking.
It ain't fair to us.
But although speaking loudly and much more professionally, they were seem to just reading the slides without digesting the facts. Without being able to answer the questions directed to them, they kept giving the reason that their slides went off.

That's why, don't talk too much. You've gotta think as well.

As for today's presentation, They too had three presenters. Their problem is, they seem not to had good relations among themselves.
The main speaker seem not satisfied with his members. How would someone say the class and the lecturer that their members did not put in much effort?? This would show that he thinks superior of himself. And the consequence might be that they get lower marks. Group work should be done in a group. If you've chosen the wrong members, then it's your problem.

What is life? It's quite confusing. Taking transport 3 hours per day? Studying day and night? Chasing after your favourite idol? Eat and sleep all day?

Why do we have to live? To wait for the death?
Why does rebirth take place? And that we have to strive hard to reach our goals, get enlightenment?
What if I'm reborn as an animal, a bird, a cow, a dog, a pig, whatever, or ghost, or deva? What is I have to suffer all over again?
Why should life be suffering?
Why were we in this universe in the first place?

Seems so weird. Quite tiring.
Life is so much suffering. Unsatisfactoriness.
That's why I'm here. taking 3 hours of tranport time to and fro the university. That's why I'd rather not move out to somewhere near there.
That's why I'm craving to see Rynn.
That's why we want to climb, not fall.
That's why we too have to bear with the society.

It's strange. I come all the way to UCSI from Setapak, while another friend who was an ex-student here go all the way from Bukit Jalil to TARC.
The world is upside down...

Attachment brings suffering. Crave is the cause of suffering.
By discarding crave and attachment, we live happier spiritually.
But this is easier said than done.

I'm still a long way from enlightenment.
Anyway, I'm striving for it.
There is a reason for this.

If I’m not wrong,

Raya

This year's Raya is less exciting than before. Only one open house to go, that means only to enjoy the delicacies once. Boo.

Recalling, time passes so fast, the last Raya seems just a few months back. Still remember it was around SPM period.

SPM 2006 is just round the corner, but I feel it ain't long since I took the exam last year.

This is a funny year.

Anyway, I've been in university already for half a year, and I'm finishing my 2nd semester's duty. 58 hours, finally over. hopefully I can get back my duty at Engineering Lab next sem.

The family will be so busy in next few weeks. Coz we are moving!! Though our house renovation is not completed yet (thanks to the d*** contractor), I've been keen on moving into my room, which I'll share with my younger sis. The house will be bigger!!

That makes us not to arrange any recreational activity in those weeks. Booooooo... But of all that, I will not give up watching TV. At least, I MUST watch [The Beginning]!!!

There's still the performance to come up. Last weeks of practice this Saturday. Just hope I won't get silly on THE day.

Rynn Lim is returning to the country, but won't be able to see him live. So sad... But hopefully my mom won't drag me away from the TV.

And the worst thing is, my tummy has been upset continuously for past few weeks. Sweat. That's why I don't really like to eat outside food.

So much is happening. Especially this year. At this time of the year.

Ahhh... enjoy life. Maybe, maybe not. A game of ball will be enjoying. ;)
