What about Raya

Right... Raya this year has been absolutely different for us.
The one and most important thing is, to study for ANALOGUE ELECTRONICS 1 test!
Well, Studying for the test alone isn't exactly a tough thing, except that I don't really understand the purpose of the different circuits...
The more frustrating thing is to study for the FINAL EXAMINATION which will be in less than a week's time from now~ AND the fact that I have both short-semester subjects ON THE SAME DAY!!! ArGgGGGgghhhhhHHHhh...... why they torture us like that...

And then, constantly getting attracted to the TV to catch the latest glimpses of Soyuz. Never really cared for the space or ISS if not for this...

And without really having any fun at all (as in ME only), we had a home-made steamboat, thanks to the huge supply of fish and other common seafood in the fridge, and the steamboat 'cooker' (whatever) we got as a gift. And stuffing almost everything down the stomach WAS CRAZY! (Our mentality of not wasting food...)

And I find I'm still not really into steamboat... hah~

Wanted: JOB!!!

I'm officially looking for a part-time job now.
And it WILL BE tough looking for the job, since I will mostly be working for November month only.
And somehow, I'm rather picky in choosing my job too! Haha~
A list of the common PT jobs available are:

PROMOTER:
Though popular and easy-to-get job it may be, I just reali pantang the idea, Coz I have no patience standing there looking at nothing, and then layan the customers with a variety of expressions, see them mess up the stuff, and clearing up the mess. Actually, What I reali hate is when there is not much work to do, I still have to stand there counting the minutes and seconds, hoping the time will pass by quickly. That's what is defined by BOREDOM.

WAITRESS:
Though I don't reali hate it, I never reali considered it. When I know how careless I can be when working and carrying things around. But if there's somewhere with an equally high pay, I will truly give a try. Somehow I would prefer to work in the kitchen, especially those of bakeries, where I can learn some skills in cooking! Hah~

SURVEYOR:
If you call that a person who does surveys. That's what my sis have been doing. It's quite a flexible one. The tough thing is to have to go around looking for people to survey on. And it's quite a complex survey, basically need at least half an hour for each survey. And my problem is, I AM not as outgoing enough to knock on each door to look for people.

OFFICE WORK:
Have been considering such jobs as data-entry... but definitely the toughest to find for a-month-long job. And realised another problem... I dont have enough of formal suits to go work in offices! Haiz...

Frankly speaking, a job that I crave most for... for the sake of experience, is the type that has to do with events. Backstage work, operating crew... whatever. Sounds fun, but it is defintely a tiring and energy-consuming and rushing and crazy job! Somehow, the alienistic me, I am eager for that~ Haha... Although the pay might be low. But it's expected.

It's not clear whether my aim for a job is money-wise or experience-wise. I just do not want to spend my holiday sitting at home, though I wont be sitting around reali, having the extra housework to do at home (yes, my mom will find numerous jobs for me!!).
And since I WANT to go for the concert, I NEED to find MONEYYY!!!$$$!!!

Right. So anyone with any sources of part-time job, please do inform me! And anyone wana 'compliment or comment on my 'analysis of job', hmm... go ahead la... haha~

Imperfect

Somehow, I duno why, but somehow...
I never seem to be able to get things done the PERFECT way.
And, that is, I almost always overlook a particular thing, which of course causes the imperfection.
And I am definitely furious at this.
Why others can do it, but I cannot.
And why I keep my target so high when I so rarely can achieve it.
Why I still mind so much when I keep persuading myself to avoid clinging on it too much.
Why I am never confident in doing things...
it's because whenever I am confident in a particular thing, the result often turn out another way... far from expectation.

Have to accept myself the way I am.
But still, gotta give my best in everything.
Gotta build my confidence. Gotta strive.

electronics

Sitting at the computer lab now, after ages of not being here (except for printing).
Why am I so free?
Well, was supposed to be in the engineering lab to do the hobby-kit experiment, but somehow, we are so lack of components to construct the circuits.
Leave those which are more interesting like the music box, heat sensor, car alarm...
even the simplest ones such as LED flasher cannot be done.

So I'm here, staring at the monitor screen, and craving for my bed.
Waiting for those to come back from Sunway, waiting for Tiff to bring the stuff to do.

Transmitter Hunt ~ BBQs ~

Abandoned my blog for 2 weeks now.
Had a quite happening last week.

22/9/2007
TRANSMITTER HUNT

The Transmitter Hunt was held bythe UCSI Student Chapter of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) at our university. Taking part in the event were our own students (majority the ESA members), as well as students from other highere institution such as Uniten, MMU, n UCSJ. Not a huge thing, but if I'm not wrong, this was the first ever transmitter hunt in Malaysia! Hehe~

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The ESA members (mostly)

This hunt was very small, which is mostly in Block C, compared to those in the US, which may involve the whole city area. But it got us running and panting and suffocating~ Wahaha... and never have I run the staircases of the building so many times before! And now I know that there are 57 lamp posts in UCSI!! Muahahahaha~!!!

And of course, the winner of the event... our very own ESA committee members!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Though below my expectations to meet new people from other institutions, got to know a bunch of people from IET and some A Level participants. The BBQ nite later... didn't serve much as BBQ for us, with only two 'stoves' for self-service~! sweat...

To conclude, the event was a great experience. And I do look forward for a bigger one in future!! Hehe...

24/9/2007
'MID-AUTUMN' BBQ PARTY
Held in a house somewhere in Connaught Garden :P
"Borrowed" bricks from ex-FIT for our 'stove', used leftover grill from the design project to cover the top~ hah. Seem like a bunch of people making dinner in the jungle.
And AS USUAL, the guys make the fire, the gurls prepare the food to grill.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
We had the first serving, while the architecture gang had their turn later.
After the food, came the crazier part. Games. With coke and WHISKY!
And the outcome...

RED!!!
The next day was the worst time. Couldn't concentrate in class. Fishing. Blurness.
Hah... effect of alchohol!
~A day of fun! But I still love to stay at home~

a day

It's been a hell of a time with analogue electronics.
The lectures which prove little use compared to self-study.
The lab session that wasn't of much help either, just got us crazier.
The difference in the way the lecturer teach and the way she set the test questions.
The fact that she doesn't really understand what she is teaching herself.

Boo.

Hung out at the MPH with the guys, and playing volleyball (and blocking the way of the uni-team warming up ;P).
With the balls flying just anywhere.
Ending up having my hands blue-blacked.

haha~
Which was swollen earlier.
It was fun though. Though as usual, Im not better than amateur...

buzz

Things have been rushing in in abundance at the start of this week.

Scholarship duty hours started this week, hopefully to be finished by next or the other week.

Newly joining the committee of SoEA, getting new tasks. One of it was being the 'photographer' during the opening ceremony a sports event at our university.
And getting fooled by Min How who suggested that I go up front to tke the photos when I was not allowed to do so. SWEAT~!!!

Friends problems. Doesn't seem big, maybe it's just me making a fuss out of it.
Friendship fun. Friends came over from Cheras to my house at a time nearing midnight, initially asking me our to yam-char which I couldn't, and they came touring in my house instead. Hah!

Studies weren't going smoothly. Getting blurred and messed up by both the lecturer and lab tutor of Analogue Electronics 1. And find it hard to stay up wide awake in Digital Electronics 1 class, the fact that I have been in THREE binary-lecture classes now... and definitely getting bored over it of course!

At jst the right time, my mom went traveling in Beijing, leaving us behind with the daily housework and stuff.
'Returning' to Beijing has always been my dream. Now that mom goes TOURING in Beijing and later an extension of stay over at the embassy quarters of a friend's, it is so much worth it.

Problems again with the house. Water tank leaking. causing the numerous inconveniences. Wasting resources and money.

Thought I would not have enough time for everything. Now I gotta find time.
Precious time.

it's complicated

It's a big start for a new semester.

The darker side... time clashing, gastric problem,...
The brighter side... chosen to join the SOEA Committee!!
And it's not for fun, or for the post. And pretty aware of the work loads coming up. And the responsibility I have. It's so much different from secondary school now. Everything should be of good quality.

But still, to have the joy and fun out of the work, if I managed to get any. =D

And this is the exposure I want. Although I have less confidence in handling things, I need this to furnish myself to face the society.

Had a taste of the complications of socialing right before I 'officially' joined the committee. Now I know how much is the 'a lot' to sacrifice. For now, it's friends...

Face it. You have to climb out of your lonely-faraway-planet world, as well as your sweet-and-funfilled world with friends. Not to abandon them, but to step into another world.

unintended, unnecessary

New semester started, with me still feeling dizzy form the jog after blood donation. And later a bit of diarhea. But never thought that a problem was about to explode soon.

That I am in the danger of gastric problem.

Though there was a possibility, I never thought tht I would get it... but thinking back, there were times when I had irregular meals. And robably the problem worsen during the period of completing the project.

An unintended sacrifice. Unnecessary. Truly unwanted.
But there's no turning back. All I can do is to take more care in future.

And I really am down...

happy~

Happy Independence Day to my dear country!!

No counting down again this year, and not even watching fireworks, coz the moment the clock struck 12 am, I was shopping! Ahaha~

Went for blood donation today. Duno why I just like it. Haha... not that I enjoy seeing the extra size needle poking into my skin!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It's a wonder to me how I managed to stand not having to go home for one whole week. It's the project that kept me going on and not think and long for the comfort of my dear bed. It wasn't bad at all that my first ever stayover at a friend's house is because of rushing for a project. At least there is something to occupy my time (however unexpectedly too much work! haha~)
I believe that out of all the projects, our group faced the most problems. Somehow our design was much more complicated than others. And we had HUGE components to join up.
And guess how much the whole thing cost?
RM 1 K!!!
It would have cost much more if not for the free coconut shells and the sponsored wood planks. Though we would have saved a bit for some unused stuff. So planning of budget and materials is very important.
And of course. No regrets to group with friends mostly whom I know only for a semester. It seems everyone is there for a specific job. (not sure about myself though..=P ). And realised that some people can be a lot different than the person we know they are... Haha! Funnier.. cutier.. hehe... And I guess some people wouldn't be able to survive in my house... where there is a lack of... mirrors!!! Akakakaa~
But anyway, a great hug of thanks to my group members who made the day. For their brains and skills. And for their tolerance with my blurness!
And huge thanks to TS, Zack and WJ for helping out.
And of course, thanks to the lecturer for his kindness to extend the period of the project.
And no matter How much I like to spend my time with friends, home is the best place to be. ;)

Engineering Design Final Project - [The Progress]

The project that halved our holiday to 1 week... A whole month of physical and mental torture!
That was why I disappeared from the cyber world for so long, not becuase i went to another planet... (my spaceship is under maintenance~)
The next few days would be spent with Tiff, Heng, Lana and Hau Hua.

WEDNESDAY 22/08/07
Right after the final paper on Wednesday, we head to The Curve for lunch-cum-high-tea meal... with a special blueberry pizza~ the taste was quite good actually..haha!

Later at night we gave a 'surprise' (which didn't seem quite surprising actually) and again a Secret Recipe cake...

Later spent the last few hours of the day at Lana's house, which was quite a nice, kampung-ish place that made me 'kampung-sick'...

After midnight, we head to Heng's house, where we would be spending the week rushing our project work. TS and Zack came along to distract us by watching movies on Heng's pc...haha~

(Joking yea...) They helped us a lot in our work. ;) Before this, we were piah-ing with the coconut shells, cutting, grinding, smoothening...

The grinding caused a lot of dust. just take a look at my mask which I wore during the process...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Everything...everywhere...

The two coconut-shell domes were completed only on Thursday (with the fear of having to cut more pieces), a process which took the most time and sacrifices (sacrificing Tiff's Fundamentals paper... aiks). The worst thing is we had to HIRE someone to cut the coconut shells!! And I'm still not so satisfied with his work...boo...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The huge dome... very nice =D
[Somehow people who pass by will stare at it, touch it, then say "This is nice~"!
I like that...haha!]

After that came the wood planks which needed smoothening and mending coz they were taken from a contruction site.

Besides all the tough work, Tiff gotta rush the paperwork.

MONDAY, 27/08/07

We only brought all our work to the campus this day, the original due date of the project. And WE WERE the last group to set up our project there, while some others have already finished theirs! It's a fortune that we get extension of the due date, since we only get to finish THE BASE of our design on that day.

Managed to finish the walk-thru and first-layer painting before 12 AM the same day. Whew~

TUESDAY 28/08/07

The pressure to meet the deadline deepened. Tons of problems came; the motor, the piping, the wiring, the lighting, the landscape design, ...

All the while seeing the lecturer come and go to check on the projects of other groups which were mostly completed. One of the group projects looked ordinary, but they have a VIP...

a short conclusion

Nearing the end of my first semester in degree course, I've realised the numerous changes in my life.

Realised the hecticness life could be in degree course.
Realised how much I have to catch up with in the most basic courses.
Realised my incapibility of dealing with so much stuff.
Realised that I have to put in a lot more hard work.
Realised that hard work isn't enough. It should come with brains.
Realised that so many people around me are so much more smarter than me.

Found that I have a lot to sacrifice.
Sleeping time. Waking up at 5.40am almost everyday, I have less than average 6-hour sleep per day. Well, the fact that I NEED and LOVE to sleep~ haha!
TV time. Similar to secodary school days, never really watch any dramas.
Time with family. I realised I usually talk to dad in the car, not in the living room like before.
Home-cooked meals. Weekdays' lunch are almost always at the cafeteria, which sucks.

Realised that University life can be hectic, but enjoyable as well.
Realised how time spent with the new friends can be so different compared to old friends.
Realised that mixing with guys can be quite easy, and fun of course.
Realised that I do enjoy hanging out with them.
Realised how friends can come in helpful, especially psychologically...
Realised how simple things can get complicated in a gang.
Realised that I'm still very conservative.
Realised how much I need my best friend and How I misses her...

Met various people of 'all races and types'.
The gang that I mix with in U, as described by a friend, is quite matured. Which I agree with, generally. Who knows...
That people from other batches and gangs are quite friendly as well.
That there are people who can share their love of music with me.
That some minority personalities can be way too friendly... which I cannot cope with.
That somehow it requires skills to reject people.

Realised that I might actually miss this campus when we move to the north wing...
And a different life again.

Realised that I don't regret giving up matriculation in government institute.
Although I still crave for the fun of co-curriculum activities in Public U.

Realised even more that I really suck in sports. Though I really love sports~ Kinda torturing for my friends huh..?
Realised that I am a real crazy fan of badminton! That I can chat non-stop about it with internet pals...
Realised that Rynn is my ultimate idol~!! Isn't he? Haha...
Realised that somehow some of my dreams can actually come true. Depends whether I want to grab the opportunity when it comes.

There are so many things happening around us, whether we like it or not.
Things can be hard or easy, depends on the way we view it. The attitude you handle things.
Accepting reality is so important. Coz it can change your life. And as well change the world.

Friends, take up the courage to face the world.

And of course, ENJOY LIFE~!!

And btw, cupid hasn't spotted me yet. So guys, stop shooting your arrows at me~!!!
Very sien de leh...

P/S: To whoever I've in some way, unintentionally irritated or hurt you, I apologise for my behavior...
To my true friends, Thank you all very much...

Reality

It's been a rather hectic week. 'Four-turned-three' tests all the way down the week, with ED project meetings in between, then attending the Awards Day where I appeared as a guest holding a huge book and a huge file of Lana's, and sleeping less and less with only 2-hour sleep right before circuit theory test. And the test, was all a mess. Everything was blur, from the beginning of the new lecturer's class, to the end of the test. Hope I won't flunk. On top of everything, feeling unwell all the way, diarhoea, vomit feeling...hah...

Think that wasn't enough, I joined the gang to PC Fair after that, my first time ever, hah. A non-pro and non-addict, it walking merely walking in a straight line, seeing less than 30% of the place, hehe... Didn't get to ask anything about my desktop in the end. Boo~

Whether it was my luck of being blur... on the way home, a guy, an uncle-looking person, asked for my help at the LRT station. Being aware of the reality of society, i tried my way to escape, though he was trying to convince me to lend him money. According to him, he wanted to return to Malacca, but his car was short of fuel. He even asked me if I had any friend going back to Malacca, so that he can follow back. Such a coincidence, that I did have such friend. But who's so stupid to pull others into the river...

I had to call my dad for help, in a way, pretending that I was asking for help for him. I wonder why I just didn't get away then. Blur gurl. But thank goodness, he didn't do anything funny.

Later on, walking back home, probably I was being too sensitive, I felt that a dark-skinned guy behidn me seemed to be stalking on me. Another escaping routine again. Walked a long way round the garden, so afraid of seeing him behind me again.

~

Went to Chonghwa today. Ended up having a sun-tan while watching the guys playing basketball on their own. Played badminton with Kathleen, something which we haven't done together for ages, or we never did, haha...

And coming up, calculus assignment to be completed, and a huge final project to be done. Yes, right before the final exam. It will be the similar case for other project-based courses...arghhh...

paralysed

After a hectic day, what's worse than having cats-and-dogs rain pouring out there, and you getting stuck in the LRT station for more than one and a half hour?

While trying to make time for studying for tests and more tests as well as meeting deadlines of assignments, what's worse than having virus attacking your computer, not able to access to anything on it, getting crazy over the stubbornness of the Internet Explorer, and not haivng anyone really understanding how serious the problem is.

Now, I can only borrow pc from just anywhere... a new pc will taking super long time. And worse off, all my coursework saved in the dear old pc are in great danger. All the assignments and info I've put hours and days and weeks of time in...

No one understands the situation. No one understands me...

I wonder when I will just get crazy. Tanjung Rambutan waiting for me...

party out~

That was more than a week ago. It was Porson's birthday, and we threw him a surprise party~!! Haha... haven't been having this stuff for some time. It was fun of course...

And to introduce my gang of friends in Engineering...

Tada~!!

It's a pity we are gonna shift next semester. Will be missing this place so much... no more basketballing & badmintoning...maybe.

frustration + upset + headache

Been so stressed out recently. Have never been so disappointed with myself. There were times, actually...
This time, I'm totally upset with myself.

It's like back to those times when I couldn't remember a thing in the textbook. Now, I seem not able to solve any problem at all, although I kinda understand. And it was the test where I had most sleep time before that...coz I was halfway giving up...shouldn't be, I know...

And the clumsy me. Hurting myself while doing the project was okay, but breaking things wasn't in my schedule. I am so upset with myself... so so upset... and so so sorry to Lana for spoiling her beautiful dream...

And now, the course planning bringing such a headache to me... to finish fast or to drag. Since we have less courses to take compared to the Mechas. And so, if we follow their plan, then we will most probably be finishing faster. But I, the 'usual' unconfident me, am worried that I cannot cope. AND COOP! To do it next year or during the next next. AND my coursemates drove me crazy....ARGHHH~!! They are just so optimistic and takes everything easy...pressure for me...

All these giving me headaches...real headaches... even the course planning itself. It's so hard to please everybody.
Yet I don't get to please myself...

Especially sleeping.

Wakin

Not-very-excited but long-waited concert. Wakin 20 Concert! Yesterday at Bukit Jalil.

It was a day that Emil Chau Has been in the entertainment circle for 20 years and 1 day. Memorable indeed. And so, he presented a long list of hits which kept him in the line famous and powerful all these year. Included quite a number of numbers which I wasn't familiar with... especially those Cantonese hits. But all the way, I marvel his soulful voice. Enjoyable~!

Though it was quite a boring act, I was fishing away during some times, when he sang unfamiliar hits, of course. But there are events which lighted me up! Haha...

During a time, when he was singing and playing his guitar, a guest artist appeared... CHENG LEE~!! [FYI, he is now a well-known composer who wrote songs for Rynn Lim and Emil as well~] He looked good!! *drool* He sang along the songs composed by him for Emil [Ai Mei Gui] and [Wo Men Bu Ku]... Then, a special treat for the audience... he presented an unfinished song of his composition!! VERY VERY MARVELOUS~!!! It was the part of the concert I enjoyed most! His has a great talent~ Heehee...

And then, at another interval, Michael Wong appeared! He was shining~!! Ahaha... He presented an English oldie, [Top of the World] with Emil, a song he was preparing for his upcoming English album. Nice nice... As he was a huge fan of Emil for long, he granted his wish, by letting Emil autograph on an album of Emil's released in year 1994... in the form of a cassette! So cute~ ;) Later, he sang a hit of Emil, [Gu Zhen Nan Mian] (if I'm not wrong...hehe).

The last guest artist (so many guests...) to appear was Nicholas Teo. Though he said he was easy on stage, I noticed that he was nervous while singing with Emil. [Haha....singing with your idol, don't play play...] After that, a seemingly unplanned procedure, He called Michael Wong (who was watching the concert..) and Cheng Lee up on stage for a group song of [Zhen Xin Yin Xiong]. Looked really cool~

It was a concert very well worth it - 4 hours long!! No colorful stage, but with some confetti and fireworks once in a while. Cracking of jokes by Emil...wonder why his songs are most very sad...

A great exposure to a long-term artist~!! Great time...

helpless

Please. Please tell me what to do.

I really duno what I should do.

I am so helpless now.
I have no place to go. I cannot do anything. I have no one to talk to.

I have four years of this hectic life ahead. It's only the beginning, yet I am feeling the hell out of it...

It's no use talking to them. They only accept their own reasons. And twist the truth, making the matter worse.

I am so occupied in the mind by the heavy coursework. I am so stressed by the distance I have to travel everyday.
Yet, many a time, undesireable situation takes place.
Especially recently, when there are fewer people at home.

And we become the 'victims'.

I'd rather be hanging around at U, unlike previously, when I would be rushing home everytime the class ends. Friends are always the best resort, through them, I can temporarily ignore the stress I am facing. But easy times never last long...

I have a feeling of being forced to move out.
Yet it seems like they know I would not move out, so they are taking advantage of my weakness, my attachment towards them, against me.

Move or not move?
If I move, I will face some obstacles, monetarily, like the basic needs. And I might need a notebook, which will cost me a fortune.
If I don't, I will have to face all these every now and then, stressing and torturing myself physically and mentally.

Things just aren't as simple as you think. Many people do not understand my situation.
And the worst thing is, everytime I face this problem, I have no one to resort to, to talk to, to get advice from.

I have no control over my life, and my time.
I have no freedom... at all.

What shall I do?

I am so lost...

With schedule packed, still managed to sort out an hour or two for the interview with Rynn.

It was a time so sien trying to call in to the radio station, until I started to go fishing. Then the voice of Nic woke me up~ Aha!! Finally! My effort paid off... I get to chat with Rynn on radio~!!!

And basically, I was just talking CRAP. If any of you heard it, you'd think I am being too pressured by my coursework (in a way, this is true) til I talk like that... Haha... wonder why I just love to kacau people nowadays, even with Rynn! Naughty me...

But then, I was so touched and happy that he encouraged me to keep up with my guitar learning. That was after I expressed my wish, my dream... a ridiculous one...

"I have a wish to play guitar and dueting with Rynn."

The first time revealing it here. No one really knows of it, obviously it's a very rare chance of it being fulfilled. But I'm glad I had Rynn known of it. =)

Back to the interview. Soursand too called in. And rather interestingly, she spoke Malay with Rynn! Ahaha... It was fun listening to Rynn's 'kampung' Malay language, as he described it, comparing to Soursand's version which is with 'ink' ( 有墨水)!

I bet by now my image to Rynn has been polluted... all thanks to myself for crapping nonsense...

If Rynn ever recalls me, I do hope he remembers me and my guitar, not all those crap... hehe!

Sleepless

Only managed to finish my self-designed clock at around 4am. LAck of knowledge and experience in photoshop...hah... The design was unsatisfactory, especially the color.

Had less than 2-hour sleep. Woke up early to go for my passport application. Got my passport made in less than 2 hours! Hehe... My first passport since 7 years ago~

On the way to University later, caught a familiar face at the LRT station. Guess what, it was a friend I got to know in Beijing! A Malay friend who used to be my classmate. Somehow, he recognised me (unusual~) and still remembers my name (that is, one of my thousand nicknames). Memories rush into my mind, and I start to miss Beijing again~

Thought this wouldn't be a bad hair day, I was wrong. The reason for not having lunch was not becouse I was feeling full from the tosay (whatever) I had earlier, but because I was starting to feel ill.

Reaching home, the pain in the stomach increased, a sign of food poisoning. Great, food-poisoning again. That I couldn't sleep well. Suffering indeed. That's when 100 Plus comes into use. 3 glasses down the throat, and I felt better. And I'm now here. hehehe...

~Yey, I got my passport!~
