Cameron Highlands

After plans called on and off, I finally made it to Cameron Highlands for a vacation. It's a long time since I was here, the last time being when I was 2 (the unforgetable scar on my forehead~).

The gang
Henry, Dick, HH, Jek, TS, Emily, Suhweai and I.
Having no gurl company with me, I was quite anxious in meeting the two gurls whom I do not know. But needless of the worry, they were nice people to get along with.

Thanks to Dick sponsoring his family apartment at Tanah Rata. =)

Having no transport around the area, we had to take the cab... which is rather welcoming, coz we had Mercedez!
Photobucket

And a large sacrifice for it.
Photobucket
=D

Let’s not talk about the traffic jam and the smoke from the diesel fuel that blacked the faces of those in the Wira behind…haha~ (Somehow, Cameron taxis have a habit of not using the A/C in the cars).

Whereabouts
The second day we had a tour to some farms at the highlands... which wasn't really the theme of the vacation.. eheh~
Photobucket

Cameron was a place full of plantations, can be said close to nature. But honestly, I prefer Sukau to this, for Sukau was closer to the nature and wildlife.
Photobucket

This reminds me of my garden a year ago which was filled with lots of lavenders. They are just so nice.
Photobucket

The mouth-watering capsicum!
Photobucket

Other than that, six of us even went for a jog on the second morning.
Photobucket
The cool weather was just nice :)

Eat, eat and eat..
A nice Cameron style steamboat with lots of vegetables...
Photobucket

Right after that the night market.
The gang was so excited about the BBQ party the next day that they couldn't resist buying so much stuff for it. Of course, the trip was stomach-filling, the food was great! I do miss the chocolate-coated strawberry! :P

Photobucket

The supper continued back at the apartment.
Photobucket

The strawberry ice-stick feast!
Photobucket

And the theme... the BBQ Party!
Our instructors, Emily and Henry!

Breakfast Chef, Henry!
We had fried mee-hun and sandwich! Honestly I never knew Henry could cook.. well!**Salutes to Henry!!**

Photobucket

Overall, the trip was fun. Except that I didn't expect it to be higher budget (yikes~ so paiseh~), the need of transport around the highlands, and the peak season traffic jam, it should be a good-enough vacation.
Hope for the next one with these buddies.

Mixed

After the many years, I still find my passion in the art of architecture. And often do I feel the pity for not walking that path.
Sometimes, there are things that we can’t help with. Sometimes we tend to make a good choice, but it does not necessary be the right choice for us. Sometimes, and often, we have to forfeit one for the other, and we would be blamed for not going for the latter.

Being an indecisive person, I often take a long time to boil over my considerations and choice over and over again. I don’t know why, but there’s just so much I have to go through before making my decision. It’s probably because of the environment that shapes my mind in this way. I am confused, I am bored, I am tired of the way I am. But probably it’s what that makes me today, whether it’s the OK me or KO me. I try to make myself more efficient, I do try. I try to fit myself into the different environments, which doesn’t always work.

I try to understand myself, but I find it getting me more confusing.
So don’t you think that you understand me.

Well said that, the happiest person doesn’t necessary have the best of everything. He just makes the best of everything.
That’s the guide I should live by.

End | Beginning

Year 2 is officially over after the felt-like-being-fooled final exam paper on Tuesday, and the very very short semester ending with the Numerical Analysis paper yesterday, which I thought was the best paper I did in this year (frankly because I did badly in others). I am rather disappointed why we did not get to evaluate the lecturers, one for the good work and the other for the misery she put in us. I just hope it won't happen again. And not to forget, the fall from the staircase.. hah~

The celebration continued with a karaoke marathon (and the first time I feel tired before the session ended :P )with all the boys! And they ROCK!! Haha... And I do need to improve my singing.. =D

The end of the semester and the beginning of the holiday! Yay! But holiday this year had better be more wisely spent than last year's... I doubt the dream to work at KMT will not be true anymore, disappointingly. Still, lots of work and wanna-dos and re-revisions and decisions to be done. I wonder if I can ever finish half...

For now, anticipating much about the trip to Cameron! Though I'm anxious about how it would turn out to be... don't wanna bring the alien me up there~ But ooo... it's been a long time since my last vacation!! Haha...

tumble

What I have often expected to happen, when there were a few times it nearly happened, and this time it finally happened.

The worst thing is having the hundreds of eyes on me in the situation. I'd really like to ask them how the scene was like...
The instant right after the startling moment, I thought it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I was proven wrong minutes and hours later, discovering the pain and the patches...

Bad luck, I'd say. After all the shuttle waitings and this. A lesson for not sleeping enough. And perhaps another reason...?

Good luck everyone, in the exam and all~

Awards Day

A late post indeed... forgive me :)

Awards Day was on last Thursday, and the previous years I thought I wouldn't have the chance to attend. But a pleasant surprise, definitely, never dare to expect it. I'm just to happy for it... and my beloved dad & mom, thanks for being there ;)

The event was dragged long by the 'congratulatory + statistics + quality + many other subjects' speech. But it got more fun before it ended... the party was at the back of the hall where we snapped the camera away~ haha..

Too bad the Thief flew away for the mid-term... ;P

Happy Raya!

Raya this year is expected to be less of open-houses to attend *boooo~~* but was good enough to be meeting up with the very-long-time-no-see friends. This time at a different location which is definitely a better choice =)
Lady luck wasn't with Eng as her shoes got 'stolen' by someone having similar shoe type.. (optimistically, she got herself a new pair of shoes~ :)

And her order of lunch wasn't good as well. Poor her~

Photobucket

A unique gathering indeed, that Theng even got tutoring on math and circuits on the spot!
Photobucket
Haha.. and it ended up Liang and others solving the math question, the PSpice learning without much advancement, and the ME wondering if I ever studied circuits and electronics!! My... I'd better go dig into the books...

Being with the gurls makes me feel like myself again..
Photobucket

Happy Raya everyone!!

The Jaws!

What's for lunch today, mom?

Photobucket

AaA아아a아Aa아아aaA아아!!!

Mom: Dinner as well...

*FAINTS*

The shark meals was far from my favourite, but the fun was at... looking and 'playing' with it!! Haha~

Ahh.. kids~ :P

Grey

The sight of dad's car on the way back home in the afternoon hardly proofs any good. Now, it's grandma who is hospitalised for suspected appendicitis, and dad and mom will be rushing rushing back to A/S.
Hearing the story of the case yesterday, only did I know that Ken's case was worse off than WJ, and even had an operation! Let's hope WJ's report turns out well...

Recent incidents have been turning my mind grey. Involving the friends and the family. I'm worried, I'm scared...

Please get well soon... Ken, WJ, Lana, and dearest Grandma.

Another Tragedy

It was shocking enough when my sister was informed that a friend of hers has been robbed and stabbed and hospitalised. And the robbers... a gang of teenagers younger than the victim!

And today... even more tragedically, friends of mine became victim!! They were robbed near their rented house! One of them even got beaten til he fainted!!! He was sent to hospital and hopefully okay by now.

Though I so don't want to believe it, it marks the area to be even more dangerous than it is. I worry for them and those staying at other areas and even for myself when there has been cases happening recently. Nowadays even the idea of stepping out of the house is scarying. How are we to survive this environment??

Help...

helpless

Hates it when tests get postponed. Prolonging my anxiety... hah~ And postponement just isn't this lecturer's habit. I wonder what happened..

And I guess I have to accept it. I cannot escape from grouping with that person for the following times as long as I am alive and doing my engineering degree here. Pray for a safe and smooth semester (as well as the rest of the semesters..)~

To bump into him TWICE in a week is BAD LUCK. And having to entertain or even respond to his never-ending show-offs is evverlasting murdering!! I just don't understand why he has to do all that. Is it so herotic to be jumping off the steps in the middle of the streets??!! CUT IT OUT!!!

中秋

It's kinda wonderous how the life has changed in just a year. When the previous September, previous short semester, previous year, we were still an nine-some turned eight-some gang; when we were still going for class together; when some were fishing in class while others became live photographers; when singing-K was still a rare-but-possible practice; when we were planning a barbeque party at the house and trying not to let someone know (for the sake of our lives~); when we dread over what was so simple yet so confusing in the courses.

And now without the mechas taking the same courses, though it isn't the first time, there is a sense of loneliness around. Even chances of lunch-ing together is rare and almost none, not to say, to get together for a sports game (I do doubt if I can still play badminton~).

And I feel like I haven't been using my brains during class before as compared to these few days. It's rather amazing how the course syllabus can make me not realise the passing of time during the lecture. And yet, it's a thrid year course... oh my! I can't believe I am entering the third year of the engineering life now!! I am really so not ready for it as it seems too fast~ and that's also because I haven't 'played' enough.. hah~

And finally I have an ex-schoolmate cum ex-classmate studying here with me. This is very rare as the campus is 'so far' from my area (anyway, it's further for her). ALthough it doesn't make much difference in my universit life since she is based in the other wing campus. Boo.

The soon-to-be Mid-Autumn festival seem to be only excited by the mooncakes. Again this year, it's not a full gathering of the family. Neither a BBQ party. Should be one spend with numericals and circuits while eyeing what would come up in the chaotic columns of the paper.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyone!! =D

换季

What happened was probably something that happen at the right time, I hope.
To bring me back to earth, to stop, at least lessen, my craving, to prepare myself to face a such situation in future.

It's when I realise how far I am from the Dhamma. It's been half a year that I have not set foot in a Dhamma class, and not even touching a Dhamma book. That makes the monsterous me right now. Aikss...

The few days in persuading myself to accept the fact. Now it's serious time; it's time that I seriously stick myself to the books even more seriously. And it's because of the year 3 course I am taking now. And how fast time has past, I'm almost in Year 3 now...

As if the problems around are not enough, I have officially joined Will Group. Though it isn't as easy as aspected, I guess it's better than counting resistors or cleaning the labs for scholarship duty. Well then, trial for now, let's just see if I can cope it.

The days and years of the brackets are finally over! But now I find it more troublesome with the retainers... sweat~ And pray that this one year goes smooth.

New semester, new courses, new challenges, new aims, ...
New hopes, yet the same me.

It's a change of season...

about the...

Time flies too fast. A semester over again. Seemed a quick one, but considered the most eventful of the days in university so far.

First, there was the Greeniz camp which made me skip a week's classes as well as my cousin's wedding. That contributed to my tough time catching up with the syllabuses, but no regrets for the wonderful experience and people that I met. =)

The Kuanmootuan annual dinner was immediately after that, which (unfortunately) helps me confirm that no matter how I tried, that I just cannot click with that group of people. Oh well, it's fated...

Back in school, it could have been the most headache semester ever. Shall I say, were we a bit too free, or we were helpless to do anything? Anyway, I am glad I did not make the wrong choice by joining this group instead of believing that I REALLY could work with *that person* (Yup, who has already gotten me half crazy over the semester~)!

Photobucket
The EMI Project "Pick & Place Robot".

The friends who contributed the successes, the failures, the excitements, the assistances... The old friends, to find out the real them, to discover who I really am. The new acquaintances, to find out how nice (or not) people can be, and to know how much more that I lack. Those who have directly and indirectly helped me regain my energy and the dreams who were thought impossible.

The dearest ones who have supported me and endured ME.
Whom I wana spend as much time as possible with.

To all who have crossed my path of life,
고맙습니다.
사랑함니다! ^^

University life

To add on to the previous post, here is the photo of the group I have spent the almost 4 months banging the heads with :P

Photobucket
I just noticed we are of a variety of sizes... hahaha~
Thanks to MinHow for the photo~

Joined an ice-breaking event by CCS yesterday with the coursemates. It was just 'okay la..', the usual games we always had since primary school. Probably just my expectations being too high and expecting something much more special.

Photobucket
The future engineers gathered [oops... missed Chin Yee out. Paiseh~]
Credits to Esther for the photo :)

Almost ending my second year or program and looking back, I realize that life in university hasn't been as I had expected. Probably because of me, my situation and my surrounding, there just seem to be a lack of more significant or experiencing or fun events. Anyway, I say I regret for not taking more of my time out since I'll be entering the busier part of the program next year.

Hope to find back the lost time~

The battle continues...

FINALLY the day I've been waiting for... the end of EMI project!!
It's NOT fantastic to look back how I survived the days... it didn't seem as hectic as Eng. Design project, it did got us on our toes trying to figure out what we (or at least I) really have any exposure or talent or even interest in.

How insane the semester was. With the times when I could only stare and couldn't do anything. The times that things just don't work out. The times that I have to sacrifice... for something, or nothing. The times when things are still undone and yet seeing people flying off. The helpless times.

But we pulled through, with the obstacles and detours and heavily lagging of schedules. I'd say, probably it wasn't the best team I have worked with, but for such a tough project (for our level), it could have been the best. And of course, it wouldn't have been ours if not for the team leader [Yup, a thousand thank yous for your effort!!] A lot of thank yous to the team members, who have given what they have. And tons of apologies for my wrong-doings and mistakes that lagged everything else...

It's a huge relief that this is over, but coming up, the tight schedule of assignments and tests and final examination. Yet in two weeks, I will be shaking my legs at home :P No trip to Genting for the MAA :( but next Friday is the big day! Opening of Beijing Olympics 2008!!
* anxiously waiting for Changmin's performance... if it turn out tru ;) *

Kasahamnida everyone, and FIGHTING!!

busi-ness

Having to give up Marshal-ing at the Trailblazer, the test did not turn out good after all. Other than the tests, the project was a huge headache with existing and new problems even at this point nearing the deadline. Yet the week was rather a hazardous one (or rather, I was the hazardous one creating trouble and all). 组员们,很抱歉,我真的已经尽力了。。。

The second time to stayup all night, and for the same purpose - completing the final report. And seriously this is critical for a person who loves to sleep like me :p
And worse of with my mom discovering me in front of the desktop at the wee hours... 让你们操心了,对不起。。。

Life has seem dull for some time, yet once in a while, it relieving to find the someones around who are ready to listen to you. And it's amazing to discover that they are more than they have always been.

相信。 自己。

POWER

Sometimes I can't help it, but I get really out of my mind. Sorry for doing that, but I just get pissed off at times. And this time, it's when things get messed up just because someone do what he/she FEELS IS RIGHT and claims the instructions as WRONG and thinks he/she is still RIGHT when getting incompatible results!!! Arghhhh!! Why did I ever know you?!!

I have to to say that the EP lab sessions and reports are driving me crazy. Firstly, for the first few lab sessions, all the students had to que to work on ONE working station, which sux coz other students do not follow order. Then, the instruments are often not functioning well. [That's how we see our money flushed away just like that...]

And lab reports!! The hardest to score ever since I'm officially in the program. Especially when we can't really relate what we learn in lectures to what we are really doing in lab. So the Mondays are always so miserable. Writing out the report is tough enough, what more trying to figure out what we actually do in lab!! The worst of the worst is when I am squeezing my brains to produce POWER while others are just waiting and chatting away... and constantly making so much noise that I can't think at all! Arghhh... I really wanted to strangle them... especially the loudest one~ =.=ll

I NEED POWER~~~

lost

I say, my productivity level has been going down the hill recently. Doing a six-page article throughout the night until four thirty in the morning is so out of scale...(is it the right way to say that?)

With the mid-progress report just over, there are just so much work undone. So much that we do not know. So many PCBs done yet only few of them really working. So much time wasted in waiting and waiting. So much that I've learned yet forgotten and have to re-study. And again, so much of other things I want to do yet not get to do.

Somehow the semester is so full of ups and downs. And it passes so fast. That keep me trying to recall what I have been doing these past two months. (And I am seriously still trying...)

Skybridge

Saturday, June 28, 2008

It was my second time at the Skybridge of Petronas Twin Towers! And now i got to snap my cam away as I like~

YZ's friend YP came to KL for a stay, and thus the trip. And because Chinese Malaysians rarely visit, the staff thought we were from China or Hong Kong! That was fun... we were four crazy gurls talking and laughing and snapping away~!!

KLCC Park view. Fabulous!

Photobucket
I love the view downwards

Photobucket
The gallery was pretty interesting too (though not as good as prevously), with brain teasers such as this never-solved-by-anyone-before puzzle.

Having a stroll trhough KLCC, we came to a new LG branch, where they were having lucy draw of a mobile phone as promotion. The rule is, face paint!! And that had to go with the Euro 2008 theme! Just for the fun of it, I asked for a more ununiformed Spain flag on my face, but damn... it WAS bad!

And later, running out of time, we rushed through and out of the place to the streets! And yes, VERY eye-catching indeed!!

Photobucket
the eye-catching look!! Damn~

And somehow, since then, I supported Spain... and Spain won!! Haha~ thought I would never get involved in this euro thing...

My first IET event

Just for a record.
After joining for > 2 months, finally I get to attended the first event. A talk by Ir. Lee CK entitled Introduction to Power System Protection and Applications of Numerical Over-Current Earth Fault Relays at UM Faculty of Engineering.

Photobucket

Though the topic was something I have not learnt yet, the presentation was really good and it was easy to understand. No worries of dropping off after the tiring day.. haha~

Lots of thanks to Steven for the rides!!

reality

Been sweating the whole day, physically and mentally. Especially after the jog which opened up my sweat pores and make me sweat the whole day ( =.=ll ) The worst thing is to go all the way to Cheras for an-hour tutorial where the lecturer turned up an hour late!! Then it's all the way back again. Nice game.

Th reality of price hike. Accept it. Though it doesn't create much chaos in my life ... yet, it's better we start a conserving and saving lifestyle. Probably it's the camp effect, but it's kinda sickening to see people wasting food, water, paper, etc...

Fuel price hiking has led to more people switching to public transport. And yet, I wonder why, despite the many complaints, the uni is still so reluctant to operate both the shuttle buses at the same time, especially during peak hours. As if traffic congestion isn't enough, there is even congestion inside the bus! Got really disgusted when some people (to be specific, the foreigner guys) will not give way for people to get in or out of the bus! There was even a situation when two BIG foreign guys, with 20+ people waiting behind them, were arguing and fighting on who to GET ON THE BUS FIRST!! CHILDISHHHH!!! I can't believe this.

I had a general perception that guys from foreign countries are more 'gentleman'. Now I realize that many of them are not just far from that; they don't have a 'ladies first' concept in mind (not that I care so much about it since we seldom get this treatment locally), and they don't give a damn about anyone else except their friends!

Fed up...

Green Fest 2008!

Unlike before attending the camp, I was much anticipating this event, since I finished my tests before it! And of course, mainly because I get to see the friends again!! [Yea I miss them a lot!]

Where it was held might have explained why it wasn't as BIG as expected. We actually took over half an hour searching for the park! It was Taman Lembah Kiara, a mini-Titiwangsa type park.

Except for the rain in the morning, the day was fine, cloudiness that made it 'un-hot'.

Photobucket
We decided to pose with the friends from the jungle too!

Photobucket
the coasters left... I wonder if these were sold off in the end.

It's my first time (as far as I remember) getting physically involved in charity event. It was more fun than work. Out of the 84 coasters, we managed to sell at least 79, which brought at least RM237! [Hurray for paper mache~] And never was it a practice to spend away my allowance in one go, but then it was for a good cause. =)

Had a great day.
